WHAT IS A DIRECT-PAY LIMITED PRACTICE?
A Direct Pay medical practice does not participate in insurance or government plans like Medicare, Medicaid, and Affordable Care. Many physicians across the U.S. are moving to this type of practice to help reduce the amount of complicated and time-consuming paperwork created by the federal government and insurance companies.
What this means for you is that overall treatment costs are lower. Each service that we provide has a simple flat fee, and the headaches often associated with insurance claims are eliminated. Another benefit to you is that the doctor can spend much more time listening to you and assessing your particular foot issues. The patient and the doctor both are winners!
To be clear, a Direct-Pay practice is not the same as a Concierge practice. Concierge practices are appearing increasingly for similar reasons, but the major difference with them is that they require an annual or monthly "membership" fee that guarantees that a patient will see an actual doctor as opposed to a nurse practioner or physician's assistant. There are other differences, but...
